Sea Angling: If sea fishing is your bag then you will be delighted with the choice of fishing trips and charters available from Oban and nearby Oban. This area is well known for the size of Skate which are caught. 150lb common skate are caught frequently and some over 200lbs. Of course smaller fish are cast for such as cod and of course mackerel when in season.
Kayaking:
Oban is also well known for diving but in more recent years sea kaying has exploded onto the scene. There are classes and courses available
for all skills with knowledgeable instructors or for those who already kayak you can hire for the day too.
As mentioned, diving has long been one of Obans attractions with many wrecks and reefs to explore within a short distance. Ask your host about diving tours, hire or classes.
Walks and Tours: If you like longer walks, then visiting Kerrera by ferry then take the Gylen Castle walk. The Island of Kerrera is the Island which shelters Oban immediately to the west and a short ferry journey is available to take you over to explore. This is a great place to see seals and other wildlife while enjoying the fairly easy walking and of course spectacular views. On a day where the weather is against you, the distillery tour might suit you. Recocgnised as one of the better whisky tours.
